DHL/USPS: Why does USPS say it's still waiting for my package?

If USPS tracking displays "USPS Awaiting Item" or a similar message, it generally means that USPS hasn't physically received or scanned your package yet.

When shipping through DHL eCommerce, your package may still be traveling through DHL's network or waiting to be transferred to USPS for final delivery.

It's normal for there to be a gap between tracking updates during this process.
